| DOOR ARMRESTS: 1968-1970 AMX and Javelin ~ 1968-1970 Rebel ~ 1971 Matador ~ 1968-1971 Ambassador Now there is a solution to the warped and/or broken armrest problem. The original armrests were made of multiple parts and filled with foam that soon caused the outer skin to seperate and peel from the inner structure. Often the skin is craked and the hard plastic base has become warped or broken. You no longer need to try to repair these old armrests, or pay large sums of money for good unit only to have it experience the same promblems when installed on the vehicle. These new armrests are made by improved one piece urethane molded design. The new armrests incorporate a metal structure for strength and have a molded urethane pad for a non-shrinking finish. When installed on the door these look to be original armrests, but the faulty air delivery system has been eliminated, no more hot or cold air will enter the car through this failed design. The bottom of the new armrests have the air delivery recess like the originals, so they look lke the air vent door is closed. Now a solution to both of these problems is here. We now have brand new "Made in the U.S.A." door glass that incorporates more modern design features. This new door glass has 4 holes in the bottom to provide a mechanical attachment to the aluminum glass setting channels (lift shoes) in addition to the adhesive used originally. Included with the glass are poly sleeved hardware kits complete with step by step detailed insrtuction sheet. By following these step by step instructions your AMX will have a tight fitting door glass without the typical in and out looseness. Now your AMX will have the drilled door glass design that became standard on vehicles built in later years. It will not get loose in the channels, so NO rebonding will be required every few years. In the past a homemade bracket was often used to attach the channels together with the intention of keeping the glass in it's proper location, this "backyard" approach is no longer needed.
